Aasha Rainbow Quilt with Hidden Sari | Kantha Quilt
Kanthas are layers of cloth, hand-stitched by women in West Bengal using a traditional kantha stitch.
Aasha, a perfectly imperfect rainbow kantha throw that took up to 20 days to complete and is made from 3 layers of 100% cotton. The freehand zig zag pattern made up of green, red, blue, black, yellow and red symbolises a rainbow of Hope.
We commissioned this collection just at the beginning of the lockdown in India. It was our way to ensure we could help artisans during this trying period. Each throw is entwined with hope and love and by purchasing a Hope throw you are directly supporting the livelihood of artisans dependent on traditional skills.
Please note: There are joints in our quilts because we use handloomed cotton and zero waste.
