White Porcelain Wide Mug - 5 Colour Options
This wide white mug is the ideal choice for your breakfast tea or coffee. The slightly smaller size of the wide cup allows for refills of your favourite breakfast tea or espresso coffee.
Who doesn’t need two cups to start the day? The wider shape and lower height of this mug make it ideal for fitting under most coffee machines.
A hand-drawn line in black porcelain slip decorates the outside of the mug, marking the dividing line between the fully glazed upper half of the cup and the lovely matt texture of the unglazed bottom half.
The distinctive round handle is comfortable to hold and joins the base of the cup with a small button detail.
Our brand logo is impressed into the bottom of the mug and on all of the Ambit collection and identifies the product as an exclusive Sue Ure Maison design. Made from pure white porcelain (ceramic) clay.
Every cup, mug and tumbler in the Ambit collection is created first on the potter's wheel in my workshop in France.
Dozens of cups are hand-thrown, changing details each time, before I decide which mug or cup is the ideal shape and size.
Inside the mug, you can see the traces of the marks left in the clay by my hands, from throwing the original wide breakfast mug.
This handmade piece provides the prototype from which the mould is created and then all the mugs are slip-cast.
The mugs’ fine rim makes them a pleasure to drink from, but they are not fragile. These elegant considered mugs are a high-fired robust product, designed to be used and enjoyed for years to come.
