The Elvis & Kresse Large Washbag is made from genuine decommissioned fire-hose and lined with waste parachute silk. Previously deployed in active duty for up to 25 years, fighting fires around the UK, fire-hose makes a perfect wash bag. Strong enough to tackle the toughest conditions first time around, the hose has been re-engineered to protect your toiletries – the hose itself is obviously waterproof, protecting what’s inside but perhaps more importantly protecting what’s outside from leaky shampoo bottles and exploding toothpaste tubes..
Chosen as one of the best washbags by The Independent; the Large Washbag is available in red hose, yellow hose or black printing blanket. The latter version is made from reclaimed printing blankets combined with our signature decommissioned fire-hose, making a bold statement. The re-engineered printing blanket creates a visually stunning textile that is strong and beautiful to the touch. This iteration maintains all the design features of the full fire-hose versions as described above.
If you choose the personalisation option, this is achieved by laser etching directly into the fire-hose. We recommend not more than 20 characters. The font used is Times New Roman.
The Fire-hose Collection
We fell in love with London's decommissioned fire-hose back in 2005 through a chance encounter with the London Fire Brigade. We took this lifesaving material home determined to breathe new life into it and save it from its otherwise inevitable end in landfill, and vowed to donate 50% of our profits to charity.
For over a decade we have been rescuing all of London's retired fire-hose by lovingly handcrafting them into sustainable luxury bags and accessories. Every year since, Elvis & Kresse have donated 50% of the profits from the Fire-hose Collection to The Fire Fighters Charity. This heroic material, once used to save lives, gets a second chance to keep giving back.
Our Fire-hose pieces are more than just a collection, they represent a whole new kind of luxury. One that is sustainable, ethical, transparent, generous and kind.
What can you fit in there?
It's a large washbag so you can fit pretty much anything you like but this is what Elvis takes: Tooth brush, toothpaste, razor, shaving brush and cream, soap, shampoo, hairbrush and nail clippers. Kresse manages to cram it a little fuller with some conditioner and moisturizer and obviously loses the shaving kit but you get the picture…

How do I request an exchange or return?
Generous APE is a multi-brand marketplace which means products are sent directly from the different brands, some in different countries. Returns need to be sent direct back to the brands, not Generous APE. Therefore, if you have ordered products from different brands and you wish to return them, they will need to be sent back to each brand.
Generous APE does not cover the cost of return postage unless your item is faulty.
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer exchanges directly, however some do brands do offer this option. Please contact us if you wish to exchange an item and we can let you know if the brand accepts exchanges.

We will endeavour to respond to you within 2-3 hours of your email, during working hours, which are 9am to 5pm UK time, Monday to Friday.
How long do I have to return my order?
We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.
What can be returned?
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging.
Please note: Any Sale items, Custom Made or Made to Order items cannot be returned unless faulty. The brand will investigate faults before a refund will be issued.
What if an item is faulty?
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue.
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not.
If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method.
Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
