A hand-drawn line in black porcelain slip bisects the midpoint of the cup, marking the dividing line between the fully glazed upper half of the tumbler and the lovely matt texture of the unglazed bottom half.

When I was designing our tall beaker, I was aware that a handleless cup was something of a recent item in terms of UK tableware.
