All our Ambit porcelain tableware features a hand-drawn line in porcelain slip. On our wide black coffee mugs, a fine white line decorates the outside of the mug, marking the dividing point between the fully glazed upper half of the cup and the lovely matt texture of the unglazed bottom half.

Our hallmark round handle is comfortable to hold and joins the handle to the base of the cup with a small button detail. Our brand logo is impressed into the bottom of the mug and on all of the Ambit cups, mugs and beakers, and identifies the product as an exclusive Sue Ure Maison design.

Every tableware item in the Ambit collection is created first on the potter's wheel in my workshop. The products are hand-thrown, changing details each time before I decide which mug or cup is the ideal shape and size.

Inside the mug, you can see the traces of the marks left in the clay by my hands, from throwing the original wide mug. This handmade piece provides the prototype from which the mould is created and then all the mugs are slip-cast.  Our manufacturer takes great care in producing our tableware with highly skilled and experienced craftspeople who take every mug through the numerous stages from liquid clay to finished high-fired, glazed and decorated beautiful products.

The mugs have a fine rim, making them a pleasure to drink from, but without undermining their solidity and resistance to everyday kitchen and home use.
