Arunima | Kantha Quilt
The purples and lilac combination in this kantha quilt reminded us of the brightness of a new day. We names her Anurima which means the glow of dawn. On the one side we see a combination of traditional candy-floss colour bandani (tie-dye) sari combined with stripes and motif. The reverse of this quilt is made up of a checked pattern sari that is very common in Bengali fashion.
This quilt has been freehhand stitched by female artisans from a village in West Bengal.
