Drawing inspiration from the Song of the Weaver biography baskets, the Arc Bowl intricately reflects Siphiwe’s life journey. As the pillar of her homestead, Siphiwe began weaving after leaving school due to pregnancy, supporting her growing family of seven children. Despite hardships, including her husband’s departure and the loss of their cattle, she rebuilt her life with income from Gone Rural, establishing a new home and livestock. The bowl’s design elements—such as the bone representing her strength, the goat skull symbolizing the ritual upon her husband’s return, and the metal disc denoting his bicycle visits—capture the layers of her resilient story.
