Historically Yarmouth Stores have always offered knitwear in the range . Whole factories were dedicated to machine knitting. The Yachtsman Jersey , Ribbed Guernseys, Mersey Guernseys all feature in the 1905 catalogue, described as ‘indispensable for shooting, fishing, and boating in unique patterns , both heavy and warm’ The catalogue boasts that “Once you have got one of these sweaters all your friends will want one like it”
The Norfolk Gansey is knitted for us in the UK , by our friends at Peregrine , whose family manufacturing business originally founded in Wigston in Leicester in 1796. Knitted from heavyweight 100% Merino Wool, making it super soft and 100% biodegradable.
The styling celebrates traditional gansey cable patterns unique to British seafaring towns . The Norfolk Gansey has a soft – not too tight, ribbed roll neck.
